Diana Haus
CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT
Hi, everyone! I’m Diana, and I’m a sophomore at Country Day. I have been at SCDS since pre-k, and I love our school and our community.
I want to represent the class of 2027 as President this year because I want to make our experience in high school the best it can be. Our class needs a strong president to advocate for us in Student Council. To me, this means working with other classes, not standing by; to make our voices heard. It means being inclusive not divisive. It means being kind to everyone in our class and lifting them up so we can all succeed together. I want to listen to everyone, and be a president for ALL of our class.
To me, that also means making sure school events are fun, ensuring that everyone is included (in and outside of class), and giving our small class a strong voice in the student body. Because SCDS is such a small school, our class can make meaningful and fun memories, and I would really love the opportunity to help achieve that.
I love serving my community and helping make it better, and I do have a lot of experience in government, both inside and outside of school. Outside of school, I serve and represent youth at both the state and local levels. At our school, I also served as both President and VP in middle school, I and would really love and appreciate the opportunity to help our grade have its best possible high school years. I know this school and community well, and I love the people here and want to make a good experience for them.
I also like being involved elsewhere around Country Day. Last spring, I had fun playing soccer, and this fall, I'm trying my hand at volleyball.
Outside of school, I really love working in my community on issues affecting women and youth. I also compete in freeride skiing on the Palisades Tahoe Freeride Competition Team, and have had a lot of fun on the Sacramento Artistic Swim Team since age 8. My favorite place to be is outdoors—from hiking and camping, to boating and snorkeling . . . with my dog, Bear (see below).
My brother, Will, is in 8th grade at Country Day. I want Country Day High School to be a great when he enters next year!
I hope you will vote for me. Let’s make the Class of ‘27 experience the best one at SCDS!
